Preferred Land Use Alternative
After months of hard work, including a series of General Plan Steering Committee meetings and public workshops, the Vacaville City Council accepted the Preferred Land Use Alternative (PLUA) as the basis for the General Plan EIR on December 13, 2011. To see the accepted PLUA map, click here.
The PLUA becomes the proposed land use diagram for the Draft General Plan. The land use diagram guides future development and conservation in Vacaville. The PLUA includes proposed land use changes for two new major growth areas, called the East of Leisure Town Road and Northeast Growth Areas. The PLUA also includes proposed land use changes on sites scattered throughout the city where the Steering Committee and City Council believe that there is merit in considering a new General Plan land use designation.
The PLUA will now be analyzed in the General Plan EIR and reviewed by the community through the Draft General Plan public review process.
